About the Role
As a Member Services Representative, you’ll be the first point of contact for our members across multiple channels — in person, by phone, email, online and virtually. This is a varied, fast-paced role involving financial transactions, member support, lending administration and day-to-day operational duties.
You’ll work as part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional service and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver frontline services to members across all communication channels
- Process transactions including lodgements, withdrawals, SCTs, EFTs, bill payments and foreign exchange
- Manage new member applications and provide information on credit union products and services
- Pay out approved loans and assist members with account management
- Support credit control queries and escalate where appropriate
- Complete cash balancing, reporting and end-of-day procedures
- Maintain and update member accounts accurately
- Provide administrative support including document management, filing, scanning and email handling
- Assist with AML and compliance duties in line with legislation and internal policies
- Participate in credit union projects, events and promotional activities
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager
About You
We’re looking for a motivated, customer-focused individual with:
- Experience in frontline customer or member services
- Experience handling cash
- Previous financial services experience (Credit Union or banking an advantage)
- Knowledge of financial/credit union systems (Progress Banking experience is ideal)
- Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel, email)
- Excellent communication, organisational and administrative abilities
- A willingness to learn and develop
- Proficiency in English
- A genuine interest in serving members within a community-based credit union
Qualifications
- A QFA or APA (Loans) is desirable
- Candidates without these qualifications must be willing to work towards the Central Bank’s minimum competency requirements
- Training and study support will be provided for the right candidate
