Newmarket Credit Union Limited is a progressive community-based credit union based in Church St, Newmarket, Co Cork with a branch office in Boherbue, Co Cork. Newmarket Credit Union currently has over 5600 members with over €57 million in assets.

We wish to appoint a CEO who is fully conversant with the ethos and objectives of credit unions and capable of making Newmarket Credit Union a leading Credit Union within the Credit Union movement.

The successful applicant will be an experienced manager in a financial environment which will allow them to quickly take ownership of the exciting challenges this post will bring.

The Role

• The successful applicant will ensure Newmarket Credit Union has a strategic vision and business plan which develops and maintains this Credit Union position as a prime example of best practice within the credit union movement
• The successful applicant will constantly review our overall performance to ensure ongoing success
• The successful applicant will ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements
• They will provide an efficient lending service to members • They will consistently review and update all policy and procedural guidance in line with regulatory requirements. This will include ongoing staff communications and training to ensure a proficient and effective service to members

The Person

• Will be dynamic and forward thinking, prepared to develop new ideas and ways of serving the needs of our members
• Will have strong priority-based organisational skills
• Will have relevant and strong IT skills
• Will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The Requirements

• A relevant qualification in related discipline (Law, Business, Finance, Marketing etc.)
• Minimum 2 years, out of the previous 5, relevant experience in a similar management role. Experience designing, planning and implementing a strategic business plan.
• Experience of using computerised packages for management purposes
