Job Vacancy - Senior Member Services Representative
Full-time • Permanent • 38 hours (Tuesday–Saturday)
Newmarket Credit Union is inviting applications for the role of Senior Member Services Representative. This is a key frontline position supporting members across multiple channels in person, by phone, email, online and virtually while also contributing to enhanced compliance, AML monitoring and operational oversight. About the Role
As a Senior Member Services Representative, you will play a central role in delivering exceptional service to members while supporting the credit union’s compliance and operational standards. This is a varied, fast-paced role involving financial transactions, account management, lending administration, AML duties and mentoring junior team members.
You will report to the Operations Manager and act as a senior point of contact within the frontline team, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver frontline services to members across all communication channels
- Process transactions including lodgements, withdrawals, SCTs, EFTs, bill payments and foreign exchange
- Manage new member applications and provide information on credit union products and services
- Pay out approved loans and assist members with account management
- Support credit control queries and escalate cases appropriately
- Complete cash balancing, reporting and end-of-day procedures
- Maintain and update member accounts with accuracy and attention to detail
- Provide administrative and operational support including document management, filing, scanning and email handling
Enhanced Senior Responsibilities
- Perform enhanced AML duties, including:
- Conducting CDD/EDD checks
- Reviewing and verifying member documentation
- Monitoring unusual transactions and escalating concerns
- Supporting AML policy implementation
- Act as a point of escalation for complex member queries
- Support staff training, mentoring and guidance for junior team members
- Assist with internal audits, compliance checks and regulatory reporting
- Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
- Participate in credit union projects, events and promotional activities
About You
We’re looking for a motivated, experienced individual with:
- Significant experience in frontline customer or member services
- Strong cash-handling experience
- Previous financial services experience. Credit Union or banking experience is essential at senior level
- Knowledge of financial/Credit Union systems
- Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel, email)
- Excellent communication, organisational and administrative abilities
- High attention to detail and strong awareness of compliance requirements
- Experience or training in AML/financial crime prevention (highly desirable)
- A proactive approach and willingness to support and mentor colleagues
- A genuine interest in serving members within a community-based credit union
Qualifications
- A QFA or APA (Loans) is desirable
- Candidates without these qualifications must be willing to work towards the Central Bank’s minimum competency requirements
- Training and study support will be provided for the right candidate
